Ana Cardoso Cachopo
I am passionate about learning and educating. I love to explore new and fascinating topics, and I am driven to help others grow and expand their knowledge. Being a professor at university allowed me to pursue both of these passions for over 20 years.
I got these degrees at IST - Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon. I started teaching there in 1992, mainly subjects for the BSc and MSc in Computer Science and Engineering:
1994 - 5-year degree in Software and Computer Engineering
1997 - MSc in Electrical and Computers Engineering, with a thesis on "Permissive Belief Revision"
2007 - PhD in Computer Science, with a thesis on "Improving Methods for Single-label Text Categorization"
I like working in teams where different opinions are openly discussed, and where people are one of the top priorities. I enjoy the challenge of solving complex and chaotic problems and bringing order to them. I want to make the world a better place, one small step at a time.

I lived in Lisbon, in London, and now in Zurich. In Switzerland, I appreciate how everything is well organised and just works, and I enjoy being close to the mountains all year round. In my free time I work as a volunteer, spend time outdoors, travel, and take photos. I share some of my photos on public websites and on my reviews on Google Maps:
